Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 30, 2026. RateMyFace is currently in beta — this policy will evolve with it.
What we collect
- Account info: your username, email address, and date of birth (we only use it to confirm you're 18 or older — we don't display it).
- Profile info you add: bio, interests, location, and any demographics you choose to share. Demographics are always optional.
- Photos you upload: stored so we can show them on your public profile once approved.
- Activity: the votes you cast, comments you post, and pages you view, so we can compute ratings and keep the site running.
- Coarse location: we estimate your country from your connection to show uploader statistics. We never store your raw IP address — only a one-way salted hash used to prevent duplicate anonymous votes.
- Cookies: a single login-session cookie. No advertising trackers.
How we use it
To run the site: display your public profile, compute your rating, show you leaderboards and statistics, prevent fraud and abuse, and (if you opt in) email you about your account. We don't sell your personal data, and we don't share it with advertisers.
Photos are public by design
Once a photo is approved, anyone on the internet can see it, including through share links and search engines. Only upload photos of yourself, and only if everyone pictured has agreed. You can delete your photos at any time from your profile.
Your choices
- Delete individual photos anytime from My Profile.
- To delete your entire account and its data, email us (address below) from your account email and we'll remove it.
- Anonymous voting needs no account at all — but carries less weight in ratings.
Security
Passwords are hashed with Argon2id and never stored in readable form. That said, no website is perfectly secure — don't reuse an important password here.
Children
RateMyFace is strictly 18+. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we delete it if we learn of it.
